Memorial Day Prayer.
Monday May 27, 2019
On this Memorial Day weekend, we pause for a moment to remember and give thanks to those who have paid the ultimate price to safeguard the freedom that we hold so dear.
We remember and commend into Your hands those who gave their lives for the cause of freedom.
May the example of their sacrifice inspire in us
the selfless love of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Bless the families of our fallen troops, fill their homes and their lives with your strength and peace.
Together with people of good will in every nation, give us the courage to answer the call and strive for peace and justice, however it may come to us.
Through Your blessing, give us the strength to do our part to bring about an end to violence and conflict around the globe.
We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
A blessed and peace-filled Memorial Day to you!
Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
