Outdoor Communion this Sunday 5/24 / Faith at Home Resources.
As many of you know, we are planning to have outdoor Communion starting this Sunday (5/24) per temporary dispensation given by Bishop David O'Connell.
Please note that this is NOT permission to celebrate public Mass - once arriving at church you will REMAIN in your car UNLESS instructed to step out during Communion.
You may either to come to the Church while Mass is being celebrated privately in the Chapel (please see instructions below to live-stream the Mass)
come to the Church between 10 and 10:30AM.
Communion will be distributed AFTER the Mass has ended
In order to balance safety, health and due reverence for the Blessed Sacrament, please observe the following
Guidelines for Outdoor Reception of Holy Communion
To best manage traffic flow,
enter the parking lot from the Mantoloking Road entrance only
– the Lynnwood and Barber Avenue entrances will be blocked off; follow the instructions of the Brick Police and the volunteers directing traffic. Please note that the restrooms must remain
The following conditions should be observed:
If you are not feeling well or in a high-risk category STAY HOME;
otherwise you put yourself and others at risk
Be a Catholic and properly disposed to receive (still applies)
Observe the one-hour Eucharistic Fast prior to receiving (unless impeded due to health)
Call to mind any sins and make an act of Contrition
and receive Holy Communion
Communion will be offered in the hand ONLY
; please make sure that your hands are clean
Communion will be given
only to those in the car
, we cannot permit consecrated hosts to be taken to go
Per NJ state law, face masks must be worn while in close proximity with the Minister of Holy Communion; immediately after saying “Amen” you may pull down the mask.
Extend your hands outside the car window, ONE HAND HELD FLAT ON TOP OF THE OTHER
After receiving Communion, please do not engage in conversation
It is suggested to offer the following prayer after Communion:
Almighty and ever-living God, may the Body and Blood of Christ your Son be for us a lasting remedy for body and soul, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
If you wish to leave to leave an offering, a basket will be available at the exit
After receiving Communion, exit through the parking lot on Lynnwood Avenue
Communion will be offered, following the Sunday 9AM live-streamed Mass,
from 10 until 10:30AM
Although the obligation to attend Mass continues to be suspended, you are strongly encouraged to either watch the live-streamed Mass which in the parking lot or later at
) or a Mass broadcast on television.
