Outdoor Communion THIS WEEK 7/7, Limited Public Mass NEXT WEEK (7/14 - God willing!)
For Pentecost our Outdoor Communion went - thanks be to God and to our great volunteers - well again! Having the new Barber Ave. Communion station helped a great deal and it was wonderful to have our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and our Young Adults helping to make it a smooth and reverent experience.
On Holy Trinity Sunday, we celebrate the central mystery of our faith: Father, Son and Holy Spirit - one God in three Persons, the Triune Godhead. Although we cannot (and probably never will completely) understand the interactions of the each of the Divine Persons within themselves, we can understand the necessity of this Mystery by its effects: the perfect community of Love and one we are called to imitate in our own imperfect way. Of course, in this We will do so again this weekend following the 9AM live-streamed Mass (available at
). For those who will be in the parking lot during Mass, as we did last week in addition to live-streaming, we will also be transmitting (locally) on
Guidelines for receiving can be found on our parish Web page at
We plan to begin celebration of limited public weekend Masses on June 14, the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ
, observing all requirements as put forth by the Diocese.
Please note that, because of current circumstances,
weekend Masses will be at celebrated 9AM and 11:30AM ONLY
to allow time for "in-car" Communion for those who cannot enter the church due to capacity requirements and for proper sanitizing between Masses.
The elevator entrance will be the only entrance; all doors may be used for exiting church.
Those individuals who are hesitant or fearful because of COVID-19 concerns as well as those with a COVID-19 diagnosis or symptoms, those who may be asymptomatic carriers, those not feeling well, those with underlying health conditions or those in a high risk category should
stay home and avoid any public gathering.
Sometime this week:
In order to ensure that you will be seated(due to updated social-distancing capacity requirements) we are putting together an advance-reservation system for the Sunday Masses and will send out notice and instructions when it is available.
When you come to church that weekend you will see that some things are different:
Holy Water fonts will be empty.
All missals, hymnals, printed materials will be removed and not in use for the Masses.
We ask that there be no public gatherings before or after Masses, at church entrances/exits or on parish property.
Immediately after each Mass the church will be sanitized, requiring all attendees to leave the church right after Mass. The Family Restroom will be open and sanitized regularly.
All in attendance are required to wear masks and are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer.
Choirs will not be used. There will be limited use of music.
There will be no offertory processions for the presentation of bread and wine. There will be no collection taken up during the Mass; baskets will be available at the exits for those wishing to leave an offering (we encourage you to consider using our secure on-line giving system at
The use of altar servers has been suspended temporarily.
Distribution of Holy Communion will be the Blessed Sacrament only (no Precious Blood).
Reception of Communion is in the hands only coming from the MAIN AISLE and returning to your pew via one of the SIDE AISLES. We ask that you leave proper social distance while coming forward to receive.
Families or members of the same household are encouraged to sit together, yet practice distance from others.
When you enter the church
you will be guided to your pew, based on family size. When capacity has been reached no one else will be admitted. You will be able to listen to Mass in the parking lot on the radio at 107.7. After Mass, Communion will be brought to those unable to be in the church during Mass as well as those who watched the live-streamed Mass at home.
Weekday public Mass at 7:30AM Monday-Friday/8:15 Saturday will begin on
Monday, June 15 in the main church
. The 9AM Sunday Mass and Daily Masses will continue to be live-streamed.
Please remember that the obligation to attend Mass
has been suspended until September 7
unless otherwise announced. If you are not yet comfortable with attending Mass please stay home and watch the live-streamed Mass at
. Outdoor Communion will continue to be offered after Mass (10-10:30AM and 12:30-1PM).
This has been a long posting and I know that the requirements seem somewhat strict. Please keep in mind that these are in place for the health and safety of everyone and we thank you in advance for your patience, your understanding and your prayers!
